Sydney's new brother

He's a schnauzer/chihuahua mix and is almost two months old. We named him Jackson- he's really playful and sleeps a lot. Sydney mostly ignores him and runs from him when he tries to play. She keeps her distance from him but we're hoping she'll warm up to him soon. He's not potty-trained yet so that is going to be interesting, but his cuteness makes up for it! This picture on the right is about as close as they get to each other.

...no snow?

The tree is up.

The stockings are hung.

The shopping is... well... not started yet.

And not a snowflake in sight!

I am actually looking forward to the snow because Aaron will be working here at the Idaho Falls Channel 6 bureau once it begins falling- whatever will he do without the daily two hour round-trip drive?

He'll be home in time for dinner!

My classes ended last Wednesday, and it is weird having so much free time! I think perhaps the most important thing I learned is **not to listen to the nurse I am working with in clinicals**

No, but really its true what they say about nurses eating their young. I hope I dont look back ten years from now and find myself grumpy and burnt-out. That said, I am realizing more and more what a stressful and demanding career I am entering into.

Anway, I am really enjoying picking up extra shifts at the store and am contemplating a few other ways to bring in extra money to pay off the many debts we owe.

My idea came when my friend Tracey and I made a "diaper cake" for another friend's baby shower. It actually turned out pretty cute, so the wheels began turning. I'm sure there are lots of other women around here offering the same service, but I also know these are really popular in eastern Idaho. So I'm going to try and sell a few.

We shall see.

In other news, we went to see the much-anticipated "Twilight" movie last week. Aaron liked it, I loved it! He's such a good sport for going to chick-flick movies with me.

Well, Rinney Jenkins is starting to snore. It must be bedtime.

Hi!

As you can see, I decided to start a blog- another one - to write and keep track of what we are up to (as much for us as for you).

As for updates, Aarons long days are wearing him out a bit. He still enjoys both jobs, though and has gotten a lot of positive feedback regarding the AM news. He's participating in a new weight-loss program for a Channel 6 sweeps piece. It seems to be going well so far and his health has been improving- lower blood pressure and he is no longer considered diabetic (which is so good to hear!)

I'm finishing up my second-to-last semester at EITC. I've been getting a lot of hands-on experience lately with clinicals at the hospital here in town. I enjoy it most days, but its really stressful. I'm anxious to graduate but constantly realizing how much I still have to learn before then.

Sydney- or "Rinney Jenkins", as we call her, is doing well- she's got Aaron wrapped around her paw and knows that all she has to do is show him her big brown eyes to get a taste of his dinner each night. Consequently, she's getting much rounder. =) (Her and Aaron are going for a run in the picture above)

Thats all for now!
